Making the most out of your Broccoli
Updated: Apr 13, 2018
1/2 Bunch Broccoli (about 2 cups)
Spices of your choice
Nuts and Seeds of your choice
2 tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Wash and slice broccoli, save broccoli stems for later to use. For this recipe we only using broccoli “flower” as I say, top of the broccoli. Place broccoli in a deep dish with a bit of grass-fed butter or just a bit of water, steam in the microwave for 3 minutes. Drain left over water and place in a serving plate. Top it off with some fresh lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil, spices and crushed or whole nuts.
I used turmeric and oregano spice, some white chia seeds and blanched almond nuts this time.
Use your slow cooker or steamer for this recipe, or if you are under time constrains (as I am most of the time lol), microwave steaming process serves just fine, only 3 minutes for this delicious side or meal ready.
Pair it with your favorite protein source like sardines, salty salmon and serve.
TIP: Only add olive oil AFTER the broccoli is done and served in a serving plate.
